My Story

Growing up , I’ve always passionate and intrigued by various sporting codes. From swimming , to waterpolo , to football and rugby – I’ve always found an escape and place in sports. Being blessed enough to earn national representation and colours in my sporting domains – I was never really into anything else. I had first thought about being in a profession that allows me to relay my sporting background , every time I had went down on the field and these “medics” came rushing to my aid. Not knowing what they are or who they were – I just knew and felt that this is what I wanted to become.

At the start of my varsity career , I had no idea that “Sport Physiotherapy” was merely just a small drop in a vast ocean that is Physiotherapy. No one had told me that there are so many more scopes of different area’s and specialities that Physiotherapy encompasses. Needless to say , I managed to get through it all while keeping my eye on the prize and ultimately specialising and finding my place as a Sports Physiotherapist , having completed by BSc. degree and graduated from the University of the Western Cape in 2014.

The musculoskeletal system of the body is something that never disappoints or bores me. Having completed by undergrad , I just craved to know moire about how it relates to an athlete and everything that goes with it! I had since completed over 10 different post-graduate diploma’s in this , including and ranging from Advanced Concussion Rehabilitation to Orthopeadic manipulative Therapy (OMT) , Mckenzie Diagnostic Therapy (MDT) as well as Advanced Life Care Level 3 (Needed for international and professional field side response).

10 years later , and I still find myself having the same passion and grift I had when I stepped onto the field. Although in a different capacity , I am now able to assist , guide and better those who cross paths with me as I know what it takes to get there , but more importantly – to stay there.
